The S.A.D. archivist

S.A.D. Archivist

Venetian blind fillets sunshine,
Slices shelves beneath
the seasons.

Slender arms conduct
Post mortems
into ancient books,

Whose orange spines
Crumble like
damp sand.

Blue summer dress
Dreams of
undressing,

Digressing beyond,
Parch brittle
pages,

Bare legs uncross
Yearn to
abandon,

Anaemic scholars,
Whose mucus thoughts,
Cough out words,

She now dissects,
Reflects beyond the
half-blind window,

To summer fields,
Cloudless skies,
Warm skin,
touching.

  1. I really like this poem. I've read it several times. It just gets better and better. I like the layout and the subject. Everything really.
