And All That Jazz!

(Sonnet by Jackie Hutchinson)

Girls’ beaded gowns of tule and lace.
How they twirl with elegance and flair,
To the heady tunes of Fred Astaire,
Edgar swoons with his lady, Grace
Buoyant twists of this era, they embrace
Conveying timeless style and debonair.
Ardent passions, inflame an affair
Dancing rhythmically to Baby Face.
Flashes of silver, opulent sapphire
Saxophones’ vibes resonates,
With tossing head and demure flicks,
Intensifying jealousy and hate,
Impetuous feelings ignites the fire,
Cunning Gilbert is playing tricks.
